Playroom Mood Board
We have this little tucked away loft area on the second floor. We decided at this stage in our life, with two boys under 5, to make it a playroom and a great place to read books with the kids. We already had a sofa that fit nicely in the loft. To truly turn it into a playroom we needed some kid-sized furniture, a place to stash books, and some smart toy storage.
The loft does not get a lot of natural light. Other than the dark grey soft, the plan is to keep everything else white or light colored. I also want to add mirrors above the sofa to help reflect the small amount of natural light that does make it into the room. In the winter the loft offers a change of scenery within the home. Certain toys, like the wooden tracks and cars, live in the loft. This way it is getting used on a regular basis when the boys want to play with certain things.
I am so excited to decorate a playroom. I think it is a place where I can let loose a little and have some fun. We want the space to be inviting, playful, and cozy. I want to do a lot of DIY art for this space and include family photos.
