The foyer just needs a few minor updates and they all include creative projects I have been dreaming up while working on the adjacent dining room.  We already hung art in the arched niches and added a few rugs, but the space is still pretty plain.  Here is the short list of projects that I will be tackling to make the foyer more interesting and more importantly welcoming.

leather strap to hang mirror1.  Hang the DIY Captains Mirrors above the bench

Artwork in a Foyer2.  Upholster the bench (I have some leftover tablecloths from the DIY Dining Chair Slipcovers)

Foyer Rugs3.  Give the “after” rugs from the foyer rug swap some style – I am thinking a stenciled or painted design

4.  Do something about those hideous lights – definitely needs to be something DIY to avoid buying two new light fixtures

That is it.  Easy, right?  My wheels are already in motion on some of these projects and I can’t wait to share them once they are finished!

I love your blog….your style is so clean and inspirational.
What color is the paint in the foyer? I love your homes color scheme but didn’t notice what color the foyer was painted.

You inspire me to do with my home what I’ve always wanted to do…and you make it all look so easy.

Thanks Susan! The foyer paint color is Driftwood Grey by Martha Stewart from Home Depot. We used it in all our common areas. It is a nice blue grey!
