Good morning. Last week my dining room was shared by Sherry and John on Young House Love. I had emailed them months ago and it was a reader commenting here that tipped me off. It was a total surprise and I might have teared up a bit when I found out. In addition to a huge traffic influx (which unfortunately took down the blog on Thursday…sorry), my favorite part of this exposure was the feedback. I spent hours reading, approving, and responding to comments. I truly appreciated the support and the feedback visitors provided. Many wrote asking for sources or a better home tour.
Well, ask and you shall receive. I spent the weekend revamping my home tour. I think you will find it is much better. From the Home Tour page you can choose any room for a detailed tour. The detailed tours include before and after pictures, mood boards, DIY projects, paint colors, and sources. The room tours are full of pictures and links. You can follow the rabbit-hole as far down as you like to learn more about my home and the DIY projects I have filled it with.
On feature I really like about the new home tour is the floor plans. For each room I have provided a floor plan of the house with the specific room highlighted. I think this helps orient you to the house and the space. Sometimes it can be difficult to envision how a room fits into the house or how the rooms connect together from pictures alone.
I think new and old readers alike will enjoy the home tour. I basically wrote 9 new posts this weekend to bring you this new home tour and I am so glad I did. It is truly powerful to have all the details for a room in one place. I hope you like this new way to navigate the content.

I haven’t gotten a chance to look around too much yet but it seems like it’s going to be super easy to see the amazing updates you’ve done to your house. I came over to your blog from YHL and while I didn’t comment before I was really hoping for something like this because I kept trying to find the all the updates you’d done and now it seems like there is one concise place to do that.

I am a new reader but found your site a while back. You have inspired me to create a better source guide for my rooms. I am new to the blogosphere and only have one room posted as we only just moved into our home a few months ago and I only learned about blogs about 6 months ago.No I didn’t live in a hole lol. Just worked full time and passed out every time I hit the door and kids were in bed. But now that I’ve discovered this world I think I’ve found my true identity. I love your blog. The YHL feature was a kick in my pants to get the home tour updated and provide readers all the info they want in one place. I am so glad I did it. You are off on the right foot…it would have been much easier for me to do this from the beginning. Even as I put these posts together I was reminded of some DIY projects I forgot about. Now whenever I think I am not making “enough” progress on the house I can take my own home tour and be reminded of all I have done so far.
