I recently took some time to make a few enhancements to the Teal & Lime Facebook page. For my loyal Facebook followers, I am sorry it took so long, but with working and blogging, who has the time? Then, I found out there are services out there to help you with these things…some are even free and easy. I decided to try out ShortStack, which has a free plan.
I made two Facebook applications for the Teal & Lime page. Hopefully they will enrich your experience and help you connect more with Teal & Lime directly from Facebook. I also fixed the header image to go with the new Facebook timeline layout. I love the inspiration to reality, featuring my dining room, captured in the header image.
I suspect some of my Facebook followers only follow through Facebook. As a Facebook user, I know how things get buried quickly in the timeline, so you may miss a great post. Well, now you can see the Teal & Lime blog feed directly in Facebook. Just click on the “Read the Blog” application and you will see a feed of recent blog posts. Check it out whenever you need an extra dose of Teal & Lime or when you fear some awesome posts passed you by on the timeline. I wouldn’t want you missing out!
I am also on Pinterest. The second app I created called “See My Pins”, shows you a feed of my Pinterest boards. Click on any board at the top and see what I am pinning in that category. If you see a pin you like, click on the picture and it will take you straight to Pinterest where you can repin. If you have a Pinterest addiction, like many of us do, this may be a nice way to see a curated collection of pins without direct temptation to wander through the rest of Pinterest-land.
I hope you enjoy these updates. If you have not checked out the Teal & Lime Facebook page, you should. Seriously, in addition to these applications, I post awesome ideas from the blogosphere several times a week. Since my blog is reserved only for my original content, I use Facebook to share great things from other sources.
