Happy 4th!!!  Of course my most recent random Etsy searches were “stars and stripes” and “red, white, and blue”.  I am here today to share some of my favorite finds with you.

Let me add a little disclaimer first.  Other than Christmas, I don’t tend to do too much holiday decorating.  It all seems so disposable to me.  We generally entertain for holidays on small, immediate-family scale, so we use the dishes we have on hand.  If I am feeling extra festive, I will pull out some decor from my party stash that fits the theme of the current holiday.

When I did these patriotic searches, I ignored all the disposable 4th of July decorations and themed stuff.  I was looking for more timeless pieces that would look great year round.  After all, I do have a modern american guest room, which features the patriotic colors all year.

Here are my favorite, cool for the 4th, but even better for all year decor finds:

This Pendleton Pillow made from a wool camp blanket is amazing.  I love the red stripe at the top and the thick wool has great cozy texture.

I adore stars.  This Stars and Pin Stripes Barn Star is super fun.  The colors and patterns are perfect with a bit of a distressed, vintage feel.

Serving trays are a great place to have fun with a more themed look.  This navy stripes and red stars tray is blatantly patriotic, but not in a cheesy way.  Looks great when it is styled.

I love a bit of pattern and color on a picture frame.  I would use this bold striped frame to frame a simple black and white picture.

I found these cute painted wooden forks in an unrelated search, but when I saw them in my favorites next to all my patriotic finds, it seemed they fit right in.  These would be so cute for a backyard party.

I think this roundup shows Americana style can go far beyond temporary holiday decorations.  I think you can have subtle patriotic elements in you decor year round.
