Mood Board Gallery
It is about time I had a proper portfolio! A huge driver for changing my blog header was to free up the cool slider feature to create a mood board gallery. The gallery is a slideshow of my most recent mood boards and corresponding DIY ideas.
I know, I know…you are craving a new DIY project. But, I am telling you, these blog updates take a chunk of time. I spent over 8 hours on the new mood board gallery…that is way more time than I spend on the average DIY project. Creating the gallery was like configuring a dozen posts. I had to title them, link them, size the images, and upload the images. I spent tons of time tweaking the presentation to get it just right.
I hope the new gallery makes it easier for my readers and clients to view all the mood boards in one place. The source link on each slide takes you to the original post with the source list or more details about the mood board.
To make it even easier, I replaced Parties in the navigation with Mood Boards. Parties was redundant with the Parties & Gifts category in the right sidebar. Click Mood Boards to go to the gallery.

The old header was one reason why I started to follow your blog. Now, I’m hooked and subscribe :). But, to new visitors who may not be familiar with your site and style (like I was a couple months ago), a header or side image or something that hits visitors right from the start could be helpful. When I saw your blog for the first time, I saw the header and thought “I like this stuff – I will like this blog”.
Jess,
Thanks for the great feedback. I originally created that header for that exact reason, to communicate what my style and blog were about before I had lots of content. Now I hope the content, with hundreds of posts, can stand on its own. However, I have big plans for the sidebar to better showcase what Teal & Lime is all about. Stay tuned!
I’m loving your mood board gallery. I think you’re right about having enough posts to peak readers’ interest. Your blog is the first I go to every day (even before Centsational Girl) because I’m interested in seeing what you’re up to next. Your mood boards are like eye candy. I feel your pain about the time it takes to make blog changes, but I think it’s worth it in the long run.
Thanks Lisa. You always leave the sweetest comments!
