Happy Valentine’s Day!
It’s not red, it’s not pink, but it is all about love. I just have to share with you my new favorite pillow cover. You may recall the super cute “Love” pillow cover (#21) from my basement family room mood board.
It was the first thing I ordered for the room. It was a bit out of character for me…I prefer to make all my own pillows. I have never spent $52 on a pillow cover. I just had to have this pillow, and I knew I did not have the time or skill to make one. This pillow falls under my category of Buy When You Love (Nothing Else Will Do).
Well, it’s here! And, I am in L-O-V-E! It is so amazingly well made. Totally worth the $52 price tag. The letters are all cut from one piece of felt and stitched on the linen cover perfectly. The front of the pillow is lined with batting for a super plush and polished looking pillow.
Then, I noticed the subtle, but amazing, stitching along the pillow opening. Pillow Factory is stitched in white thread along the envelope opening. What an amazing way to brand a pillow cover!
Besides the cute stitched branding, this seller also has cute ephemera. I love how creatively most Etsy sellers package their wares. The first thing to catch my eye was the hand-drawn and lettered address on the envelope. It is written to match the stamped return address.
Inside the pillow was wrapped in cheery tissue paper hand-stamped with “thank you” along with a sweet note from Gioia on the back of her business card.
I loved this pillow so much, I reached out to let Gioia know I would be posting about it. She graciously offered a 10% discount to her shop for Teal & Lime readers. How sweet is that!? Hop on over to the Pillow Factory and enter coupon code TEALANDLIME10 during checkout to receive 10% off your order. The coupon code is valid from Feb 14, 2013 through Feb 16, 2013.
Pillow Factory is based in Southern California and operates with a Bernina 220 activa (Gioia’s partner in crime) from a luminous room in a cute little 1923 Spanish style home. Gioia’s passion for pillows started at age 8 when she sewed a heart-shaped pillow and humbly stuffed it with polyfill. Now days she offers pillows that combine the simplicity and beauty of linen with the richness and warmth of felt. She often gets lost in sewing. That’s a good thing.
Note: I was not compensated in anyway to write this post. I am simply sharing a product I purchased and love!
