There are so many times while working on my home where it gets hard to remember how far we’ve come.  Maybe I dwell too long on a recent project failure or can’t see past the endless to-do list before our basement is really finished.  I think it is so important to pause every once and while and reflect on all the things I have accomplished in my home.  For a moment I like to forget the items still lingering on the to-do list and just cherish the beauty that is our home right now.

The lovely Aimee, from It’s Overflowing, invited me to share my home tour on her blog today.  It was a perfect opportunity to wade through photos and reflect on all the projects that make this home ours.  I wrote a few words to go with the photos.  It might be the first time I really wrote the story of how our home came to be.  Nothing can get in the way of a woman on a mission to find a home without settling for good enough…a newborn baby didn’t even slow me down.  Thankfully, we found a perfect home that we love even more now than the day we bought it.

Please take a moment to check out my home tour.  Then, if you are eager for more beautiful home tours, check out the It’s Overflowing Home Tours page.  Such a great spot for inspiration and to find new-to-you blogs to follow.

Without time concept, it seems like you were doing all the projects and this house tour shows how complete your lovely home has become!! It seems like yesterday you were debating on your was it West Elm chair/ottoman area and it really adds to the room. My favorite piece is that painting tou taped over and painted. It’s the focal point for the mantel. I like your mix of DIY, thrift repurposed, mixed with nice pieces and no one can tell which is whic for it flows. What an honor to have your talents showcased!!!

This post is a good reminder to me personally because I often feel the same way. My thought is, “OMG, we’ve been in this house for 3 years and are still not done!” However, every once in a while a friend tells me how great all the work is we have done, and I am reminded, life is not an HGTV show episode–stared and completed in 30 minutes.
